Description

The sustainable construction movement has gained strength and increased
its activity in recent years internationally for nearly 60 national
green building councils (including the United Arab Emirates).

Participants in this course clearly understand the mechanism of
sustainable construction and its impacts in the GCC within the legal
framework and guidelines for green building.

The course also includes important matters that must be considered as
the design and planning stages of a project integrating the principles
of sustainable construction and material selection.

The course also presents environmental management systems (EMS) and
reviews their effectiveness in the context of construction and
certification schemes for green buildings and their role in achieving
high environmental standards.

What Will I Learn?

  • Define sustainable construction and meet sustainability challenges at key stages of the project life cycle
  • Implement effective EMS and assess environmental risks and thereby improve environmental performance at the project level
  • Adherence to the legal framework and guidelines for green buildings to protect and improve the environment wherever possible
  • Raising environmental standards and performance across different structures in the urban environment by following green certification schemes such as LEED,
  • Develop and implement a sustainable business plan (SAP) for current and future construction projects and identify the tangible benefits of their organization
