This course covers various topics such as construction, operation and control of gas turbines to give participants the knowledge necessary to operate, maintain and detect gas turbine systems. Participants first learn the gas turbine cycle and then dig deeper into BOT techniques.The course will also discuss the operation and maintenance of air intake and purification systems, cleaning and cooling systems, turbine control operations and the operation of protection systems. In addition, participants will gain information on all components of different turbines needed to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair.

What Will I Learn?

  • Describe the different stages of the gas turbine cycle process
  • Operation and maintenance of air inlet, filtration system, dehumidification system and vapors
  • Demonstrate understanding of the compressor section to include both rotor, variable rotary guide, and coil compressor
  • Use of turbine control methods related to the operation and control of protection systems
  • Explain the construction and operation of the turbine section, including rotor, buckets, nozzles and bearings
  • Determining the construction and modification of liquid and gaseous fuel control systems, gas control valves and the lubricating system necessary to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair gas turbines
  • Describe the structural and the theory behind the operation of the generators, including the starting system, the inverter, the inverter and the refrigeration means
